Tremendous growth of population and economy increased the demand of good services which emphasizes the need of updating & expanding the knowledge base system (KBS) at a regular interval. The objective of Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering is to provide a platform for social transformation through dynamic education. In order to compete with the global Education it is necessory to adopt technological advancements. E-learning is a buzzword for web-based education and seems to be a promising and growing market.

EDUSAT is the first Indian satellite designed and developed exclusively for serving the educational sector.  It strongly reflects India’s commitment to use space technology for national development, especially for the development of the population in remote and rural locations, To provide e-learning environment to our students BVCOE has decided to establish a well equipped lab in the institute.

 Application of Edusat

1. DATABASE ACCESS is making use of a collection of data arranged for ease and speed of search and retrieval.  A Database is also called data bank.
2. DATA TRANSFER is the movement of data from one location to another.
3. EXTENSIVE REACH-To advance frontiers of knowledge and promote its dissemination through sustainable satellite enhanced learning systems seamlessly accessible to all.
4. VIRTUAL CLASSROOM – Any means of live or pre-programmed Internet broadcast of information meant to function in a teaching capacity.
5. VIDEO ON DEMAND (VOD) is a technology to view video content as and when required in the home or in the class room.  Users navigate menus with a remote control to select content.
6. ONLINE EDUCATION It changed concept of “Brick University” to “ Click University” When compared to Traditional learning. Online learning which is characterized by media learning that provides a personalized, student focused and knowledge “through a “query and discovery” process. In traditional learning student plays a reactive role, where as in online learning it is proactive role.
