The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is the largest multidisciplinary professional engineering institution in the world. The IET was formed in 2006 from two separate institutions: the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), dating back to 1871,and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) dating back to 1884. Its worldwide membership is currently in excess of 153,000. The IET's main offices are in Savoy Place in London, England and at Michael Faraday House in Stevenage, England.
IET Delhi inaugurated its student network in the college,”IET-BVCOE”, on 22nd January 2015. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr V K Gupta, Chairman, IET Delhi Local Network; Mr. R N Rajput, Hon. Secretary, IET Delhi; Ms. Azhra Fatima, Marketing Head, IET India and some other eminent personalities from IET.
Mrs. KusumTharani, faculty co-ordinator of IET-BVCOE introduced her team to the guests and members as follows:

PCB DESIGN WORKSHOP
IET-BVCOE organised a workshop on PCB Design on 9th February 2015. The workshop was taken by Mr. Naveen Kumar, CEO, EMTECH Foundation, who encouraged students to learn and explore the world of electronics. The students learned about the procedure of PCB Designing in easy way.
So as to test the students on same grounds, IET organised a ‘PCB Designing Competition’ on 21st April 2015.
WORKSHOP ON WORLD SKILLS
WorldSkills is an international skills competition for youth that is held in a different member country every two years. As of September 2008, WorldSkills International has 50 member countries. Competitors from 17 to 22 years old demonstrate their excellence in a number of different skilled trades and technology contest areas. The competition is promoted and managed by WorldSkills International, formerly known as the International Vocation Training Organisation (IVTO).
So as to inform the student members about World Skills, IET-BVCOE conducted a workshop on the same. It was taken by Mr. Naveen Kumar, CEO, EMTECH Foundation. EMTECH Foundation is a government approved organisation which provides assistance to youths for participating in World Skills. The workshop was graced by the presence of PranjalSaxena, who will be representing India in electronics in the World Skills 2016.
IET-BVCOE organised an industrial visit for all members to Indian Railways on 6th April. The visit was aimed at providing a real insight into the working of Railways. The students were informed about the equipment used in the industry and their ratings.
IET-BVCOE conducted a GD competition on 20th April 2015. A renowned faculty from T.I.M.E. was invited to judge the competition. He also explained the contestants about the dos and don’ts of GD.
ELECTROCUTION- A QUIZZING EVENT
A general quiz was organised for the students to make them realize the importance of general awareness. The competition was a big success as all the participants performed well.
On 26th April, IET-BVCOE organised its valedictory function to award and felicitate the winners of various competitions conducted by IET-BVCOE.
The valedictory function was followed by a cake cutting ceremony which marked the end of the first session of IET-BVCOE.
The IET’s Present around the World (PATW) is a well-established competition with several heats designed to encourage young engineers and technicians to develop their presentation skills in a fun and friendly environment.
PATW is one of the major events of IET. IET-BVCOE got a chance to host the regional level of this competition in its first working year. PATW regional round was a huge success with participants from all over North India coming together to showcase their talent in BVCOE Campus.
The competition turned out to be even more interesting when three of the participants of BVCOE qualified for top six.
