Intel Unnati AI Lab

Introduction

The Intel Unnati Artificial Intelligence , Gen AI , and Security Lab is a premier research facility focused on advancing the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications. The lab conducts cutting-edge research in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and edge AI, with a goal of developing innovative solutions that can positively impact society. It is enabled with high-performance computing infrastructure, specialized AI hardware, collaboration spaces, and access to large datasets and software tools.

Objective of the Laboratory

  1. Advance AI Research: Develop cutting-edge solutions in machine learning, computer vision, NLP, and edge AI.
  2. Foster Industry Collaboration: Partner with industry and research organizations for AI-driven innovations.
  3. Enhance Skill Development: Train students and faculty on AI tools like Intel® oneAPI, OpenVINO™, and deep learning frameworks.
  4. Leverage High-Performance Computing: Utilize Intel® Xeon® processors and AI accelerators for optimized AI workloads.
  5. Drive Societal Impact: Develop AI applications in healthcare, security, smart cities, and sustainability.
  6. Support Student Projects: Encourage AI research and enhance the quality of student projects.

The lab serves as a center of excellence, bridging academia, research, and industry to foster AI innovation.

Facilities

The lab is configured for 35 concurrent users. The lab includes following GPU Node configuration:                                            

  1. GPU Node : 2U dual socket Server Solution –5h generation 6530 :
    • Ubuntu* 18.04
    • Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit
    • Intel® AI Analytics Toolkit
    • Horovod* + Intel® MPI (for distributed DL training with TensorFlow*)
    • Intel® Extension for PyTorch* (IPEX)
    • Intel® Distribution of OpenVINOTM Toolkit
  1. Login + Storage Server 5th Gen. Intel® Xeon®4510Y
  2. 16- port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switch + patch cables + power cables + server Rack along with standard accessories OpenVinoTM labs will be run on Intel® DevCloud for the Edge.

STMicroelectronics Embedded Edge Artificial Intelligence Lab

Introduction

Designed in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, this lab brings the latest technological advancements in the field of AI & Machine Learning from the industry to the university ecosystem, with an aim to solve complex engineering problems using smart AI enabled Microcontrollers.

The lab provides hands-on working experience on embedded software development for AI applications, sensor fusion, real time sensor data logging, AI model generation, supervised & unsupervised machine learning, anomaly detection for predictive maintenance, fraud detection, security and classification applications.

Objective of the Laboratory

Solve Real World Engineering Problems

Learn how to structure data from sensors, design data logger, feature extraction, sensor signal processing

Design ML models to analyse real time sensor data patterns for vibration, motion, temperature, sound, pressure, current, etc.

Test and validate your model without depending on any Cloud Services

Deploy the model on a STM32 Microcontroller and integrate with the designed embedded software, train & detect data patterns on the device itself

Integrate your solution with an IoT development platform and solve complex engineering problems
